Autumn
without turning
into a butterfly, autumn deepens
for the worm
——-
autumn winds
in the sliding door’s opening
a sharp voice
——–
chilling autumn rains
curtain Mount Fuji, then make it
more beautiful to see

Happy equinox. And happy Autumn, for those in the northern hemisphere, anyway. The above are all haiku from Basho about autumn (although alas, these translations don’t maintain the 5-7-5 phrasing) They encapsulated for me what Fall feels like, and what I have been focusing on recently – deepening, listening, preparing. Spring is for the caterpillar transforming into a butterfly; fall is for the worm burrowing into the ground.
As part of this, I’ve decided to finally port Mommy Mystic to the full wordpress.org platform, and make some changes and updates I can only do once that is complete, but that’s going to take some time. In the meantime, I have a few books I’d like to review here, and I am still writing articles regularly for the BellaOnline Buddhism site. After that, I’ll hopefully complete the migration (pray for me) and start up a new series I’ve been looking forward to.
Also, several friends have started beautiful new projects this Fall, and depending on what your own soul is calling you too, they may be exactly the support you need…
Jan Lundy, from Awake is Good (and whom I interviewed here last Spring) has started a wonderful new online class and mentoring program called “Buddha Chick™.” As well as being a blogger and author, Jan is a certified interfaith spiritual director/mentor, and she has teamed with an excellent group of guest teachers/mentors in putting together this program. The course starts next week and runs all Fall, so check it out soon.
Nadia from Happy Lotus has relaunched her site – and her life – and is sharing her insights on aligning spiritual and business goals. She is now officially working as an ‘innerpreneur’ and conscious business and online media consultant. Be sure to check out her new services, and her just launched e-book, The Buddha Blueprint.
And dear friend Mon, from Holistic Mama and Bohemian Shadows, has started a powerful new blog called Spiral Sisters. As she says on her ‘sisterhood’ page there:
Lisa,
Wonderful to see you back in this space. And…I’m excited for you in the move to wordpress.org. I know this will go well for you…and…know also that my prayers are with you (smile). May this autumn season be one that brings much good into your days…
I’m looking forward to your new series… exciting.
tanks so much for the shout out too.
ahhh autumn…. my seasonal soul home.
I think you’ll like wordpress.org.
Looking forward to your new series. Welcome back!

Thanks for your well wishes, all. Looking forward to getting back in the swing of things once this port is done..
love the beautiful new space you have here Lisa! The Basho is just lovely too.
I feel like running through those autumn leaves, listening to the crunching sound beneath my feet, and then lying down and laughing:)
I know, I love those leaves!
